The 2023 Annual Report is now available!

The Geneva Aero Industry Network (GAIN) has published its annual report for 2023, highlighting significant achievements, strategic initiatives, and future objectives. Founded in 2017 by four Geneva-based aerospace companies, GAIN has grown to include over 14 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from Western Switzerland. The network continues to play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and collaboration within the aerospace industry.

Key Achievements in 2023

  1. Business Development:
    • GAIN participated in various expos and marketing communications, aiming to expand business opportunities and strengthen industry presence.
    • A key focus was on offset agreements, particularly concerning the F-35 and Patriot systems, with CHF 3.6 billion allocated but only a small percentage awarded to the western Switzerlan region.
  2. Sustainability:
    • The network set a target to reduce its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030.
    • A carbon audit was conducted by Kugler Bimetal with the support of Maneco, providing valuable insights and encouraging other members to follow suit.
  3. Quality and Innovation:
    • The quality commission was reactivated with Hicham Damsir appointed as its leader, focusing on cross-member audits and shared training.
    • Technological monitoring and innovation projects included advancements in hydrogen (H2), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), 3D printing, artificial intelligence (AI), and cybersecurity.

2024 Objectives

Looking ahead, GAIN has outlined several ambitious goals for 2024:

  1. Sustainability Efforts:
    • Continued emphasis on carbon audits for all members, supported by subsidies from the Département de l’économie et de l’emploi (DEE).
    • Regular updates and shared experiences on sustainability initiatives such as solar panels, energy financing, and building insulation.
  2. Quality Enhancements:
    • Implementation of cross-audit plans and the creation of an intranet for information exchange among members.
    • Focus on compliance with EN9100-2025 standards and preparation for related training.
  3. Innovation and Collaboration:
    • Strengthening collaborations with university laboratories and among GAIN members.
    • Development of a common innovation project to enhance technological capabilities across the network.
  4. Business Development:
    • Engaging with Swiss and international OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) through joint participation in professional trade shows and fostering B2B relationships.
    • Launch of a collaborative project focused on ramjet technology and brainstorming sessions among member companies.

GAIN remains committed to creating synergies for a safer and more sustainable world by leveraging the strengths and expertise of its member companies. For more detailed insights and updates, please visit GAIN’s website.
